Well, so much for updating every week. Major changes are going on in my life right now. I am switching jobs. I'm leaving the Fascist call center from hell for the unknown. I have accepted a position with a company that is new to town. It's so new, in fact, I hope remodeling of the building is done by my start date, July 12.
I gave up on my old job about three weeks or so into the new position. I was part of the Escalations Desk. For eight hours, five days a week, I took calls from irate customers or customers who wanted something for nothing. I was also gated for regular calls whenever anyone felt like it, meaning when call volume was slow and regular reps were being offered voulentary time off (VTO)I would take the calls becuae I was not eligible for VTO. Why was I not eligible? Because, if there was no escalattions reps, SUPERVISORS would have to take SUP calls. What a concept!!
I can honestly say I have never worked for a management team who gave less of a crap about anyone outside of their circle. The center director, our old account manager (who quit by the way), two supervisors for my project, the supevisor of the quality department (who boasted about not having applied for the job but having it givent to her), and the supervisor of scheduling all live in a town about an hour and a half drive from mine. They all used to work for the same call center in that town befor starting with my previous company. Their philosophy of management was "sit down, shut up, and do your job." Quesions or suggestions were met with hostility. It got so bad that long time employees were leaving the company. The entire training department left. One trainer who had been with the company for several years left without having another job.
But, enough about that...
My last day was Friday, June 25. I am taking a needed 2 week vacation to spend time with my husband and children. Then, on to bigger and better things!!!

$117.78 in the hole. Not an auspicious start to my week which now runs Thursday to Monday. I have decided I do like working weekends. It is much mellower. Took a test so I could keep my job yesterday. That was fun. (big eye roll) I am seriously considering seeking new employment. Also considering growing up. Not really lookin forward to either though. (sigh) oh well.

At the request of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Corbid, I am updating my blog. I will also try to add one post a week minimum.
My problem with blogging is that I have no life. I am a married mother of 4 who works a low wage job to help provide for her family. We go nowhere because trying to find a babysitter for 4 boys is pretty impossible. What person in their right mind would willingly take that on? Besides, I'm poor. I don't have a lot of extra cash lying around to spend on something like having fun. It can only be spent on something that includes the children, so it's a good thing my husband and I get along well and like hanging out together doing nothing.
I would like to get together with my friends on occasion, but we all have jobs with different schedules. It also does not help that I am 30 years old and have never had a drivers license. There's something quirky about me. Woo hoo! I am unique!

I am so bad about updating. Not that anyone is listening... erm... reading this anyway. I have to work overtime again. I am now working from 3:30 PM-12:00 AM, so it's only until 1:00 AM. I guess I shouldn't complain. I would just rather be home.
Happiness, Love, and Joy to all!!!!
